Links Resource: Studying Up on Bush/Cheney/Libby's Leak of Classified Intelligence

BY THERSITES Updated April 11, 2006

Lots of good thinkers are chewing on the revelation today that -- at least according to what Dick Cheney told Scooter Libby -- George Bush authorized the leak of classified intelligence info (the National Intelligence Estimate, or NIE) to journalists to bolster the Administration's case for war with Iraq (beforehand) and to justify it when all stated reasons for war proved false (afterward). My post on the political ramifications of the disclosure. UPDATE, 4/7: additonal analysis on whether Bush or Cheney may have obstructed justice here.

Moment of Triumph (especially note the questions of whether the President REALLY authorized the leak, or whether that's just Cheney's cover-up; whether the President's authorization of the leak constituted "declassification" (I suspect it doesn't); and my comment on that thread)
