Stabenow (D-MI)
Wyden (D-OR)

Not Voting:

Ensign (R-NV)(car accident -- no credit to him)
Hagel (R-NE)
Harkin (D-IA)

Anyone know why Hagel abstained? Was it intentional, or was he stuck somewhere? (Heck, I probably blogged about it sometime in the last 72 hours, but I have no recollection!)

I'll get a "contact" list of the good guys up soon, so we can say thank you.

Also, I'll be posting more about the Gang of 14 and how, basically, they've sold the family farm to a strip-mining company in exchange for jobs in that mine. But for starters, please visit Kos and compare the Gang of 14 list to the list of traitors above. Chew ten times, and let me know what you think!

SUPPLEMENT, FEB. 6, 2006: Thanks to The Black Jew, here's a list I hadn't thought to post: the supposedly pro-choice Republicans who voted against the filibuster:

Chafee (R-RI)
Collins (R-ME)
Snowe (R-ME)
Specter (R-PA)

According to the Omaha World-Herald both Chuck Hagel and Tom Harkin were traveling and unavailable to vote.

I posted this on lblanchard.blogspot:

in response to her saying something like,

"all Dems to the right of Joe Lieberman are Nazi Collaborators?"

I replied:

Yes, they are.

Since Bush has already:

- imprisoned without trial thousands of American citizens who are all from the same ethnoreligious group;

- invaded and occupied a non-threatening sovereign nation in contravention of international law;

- established a worldwide network of prison camps where prisoners are routinely tortured

and Alito not only agrees he can do this, but wants to expand his powers without limit, then yes, anyone who wants Alito in power supports fascism. Period.

Sergei Rostov

(Of course, they'll deny that these known events actually occurred (hmm, fascists denying known events occurred...sounds familiar, doesn't it?), but that's not my problem.)

Sergei: all dems to the RIGHT of Lieberman? I'd put the line on the other side: Lieberman and all dems to the right of him.

And maybe even farther left than that!!

As to Hegel and Harkin, I wonder whether those were ways to abstain, or really unavoidable travel? Especially since there are reports that someone threatened to "out" a R senator if he supported Alito... might that one have avoided the issue by just staying away? I'm honestly not suggesting anything -- I have no idea -- but I'm wondering what motivates people. Should both be thanked, or not?

The Omaha paper didn't give any further details on why's or where's. Hagel was on the set with George S. on Sunday Morning.
He did vote today, so who knows, but since he votes with the president 94% of the time, I see no reason to think he would have voted in favor of continuing the filibuster.
